I stood in amazement watch this lone surfer ride a wave for what seemed like 5 mins. It the stuff of legends. I love the trails of white he left behind as he cuts thru the wave.
Shot it about a half-mile off shore with a 600mm prime lens.
About JoAnn Silva
Having a Grandfather who was an artist, an uncle who was a pioneer of mid-century modern architecture and a father who was a painter, ensured that JoAnn Silva was surrounded by inspiring art at a young age. Her grandfather created a studio in his home for his young grand daughter and at the age of three JoAnn Silva began painting, igniting her life long obsession with all things visual. However, it was during her years studying at Point Loma High School that she began to formally learn the skills of a trained artist. This formal training and disciplined approach to painting, photography and design continued as she pursued a Degree in Fine Art at the United States International University in San Diego.
